Short answer: YES. Animals with binaural hearing (two ears) and binocular vision (two eyes) (including humans) recieve additional visual and auditory information by looking at/listening to the same thing from a tilt.
From National Geographic [article]:
Canids tilt their heads to determine the vertical placement of a sound—how far up/down it is. [...] The head tilt offsets the two ears vertically so that sounds from lower down will hit the lower ear first, and will also be ever-so-slightly louder in the lower ear, and vice versa for sounds coming from higher up.
Canids, like most mammals, already have an excellent sense of the horizontal placement of sound—how far left or right it is. The placement of their ears on either side of their heads lets them determine the horizontal placement of sound by how loud or quickly a sound reaches each of their ears.
Similarly, looking at something sideways provides more vertical visual information about the object's surroundings. You now have more context for the object.
